# Elevate Africa: The One-Minute Speech That Started It

This is the one that started a lot of what I do now on stage.

Elevate Africa gave me a chance to see if I actually had something to say. I took my phone, recorded a one-minute, completely unrehearsed speech at 12pm, and the rest is history. The point was never the polish. It was the initiative. How you present under pressure is you showing the world who you actually are, no script to hide behind.

Through their workshops since, I have been able to polish and refine my public speaking, and that is what has let me keep growing into every stage since.
