In 2021, I was rejected from every South African university I applied to. Not because I wasn't good enough. There simply wasn't room.
I pivoted into software engineering instead, not just to get a degree, but to learn how to build my own doors when the traditional ones were locked. I've since shared that story on the TEDx stage. But here's the part that actually matters: my outcome was the exception, not the rule.
