I was invited by Eduvos to lead a discussion with a closed group of students on how to navigate their careers, and the whole conversation kept circling back to one idea.
My takeaway was this: put yourself out there before people even ask you to. No one will know you if you do not make yourself known, and in this attention economy, that is true from your CV all the way to your LinkedIn. Nobody is going to go looking for a quiet, perfect version of you buried in a folder somewhere.
Do not be afraid to be vulnerable. It is the only thing of real substance when everyone else is busy pretending to be perfect. Most people do not lose the opportunity because they were judged and found lacking, they lose it because they never showed up for it in the first place.
