Hey there,

some insane dad lore dropped this month that is still kind of hard to believe.

FlyQuest made the Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans.

If you do not know what that is, it is The M&G's Yearly List of 200 young people they reckon are shaping the country. Even Trevor Noah has been on it. So yeah, still processing that one.

I want to be honest with you. I already said my thanks properly over on LinkedIn, so much so that I do not want to bore you all here. I really am grateful, but this is an email, and honestly I am a little shocked you are still reading. So let me actually give you something useful.

In Today's Interview I Learnt...

I read a newsletter by Thabiso Funde yesterday about the thing we all love so much, unemployment. She dug into the statement every first year seems to make these days: entry level jobs do not exist. In fairness, I used to say it too. Looking back it is wild to think things were somehow easier back then, mostly because we did not have ChatGPT yet. That realisation made me feel old.

Her post lays out a lot of genuinely useful stuff for anyone still chasing that first opportunity. Two takeaways that stuck with me: saying you use AI is not a red flag anymore, and nepotism has quietly taken a nerf. There is plenty more where that came from, so I would honestly just recommend you read it for yourself.

There is still a big fear of uncertainty in the air, I feel it too. Around education, around jobs, and now suddenly AIs are hacking other AIs, so which one are you even supposed to trust with your RAM.

It is confusing, I get it. But that is exactly what FlyQuest is for. In all the noise of tutorials and "build an agentic whatever" threads, we want to make sure you stay grounded in where you actually are, and clear on your next real step.

We are still building out our playbooks, and we are committed to helping you every step of the way. You can find them here.

Oh, btw they're hiring.

oh yeah, I am not going to leave you hanging. A few things opened up just this week that might fit some of you. And yes, even in house, Eduvos is hiring a Python dev who can finally get paid to deal with syntax errors. Go shoot your shot.

anyway, I did not want to leave the good lighting to waste either, M&G really delivered.

"One day you'll turn around and be amazed how far you've come."

As always, thank you for reading. If you ever have a comment, hit reply, I genuinely read every single one you send. Happy Women's Month, and I will see you next time.
