"Thank you for listening to my TED talk" is something I genuinely never thought I would get to say.
What started as just a shot in the dark turned into a once-in-a-lifetime experience that has changed everything we do here at FlyQuest. I was elected as a speaker for TEDxUniversityofPretoria and asked to speak on a topic near and dear to my heart. What we decided to do was something personal: talking about labels, and introducing the lies we tell ourselves.
It is very easy to label ourselves. I'm this, I'm that, and it seems harmless. But what if that lack of comfort became the disadvantage? I talked about what those labels were a stopper for, for me, and how they might be one for you too. The lies we tell ourselves might be the very things that make us feel warm, right up until they are the reason we never try.

The talk went up on 8 October 2025, and it is still one of the proudest things I have ever put my name to. Not because of the numbers, because of what it forced me to be honest about, on a stage, in front of people, on the record.
